About us

The Seattle Mongolian Youth Center (SMYC) was founded in 2016 by a group of Seattle Mongolians wanting to preserve Mongolian culture and language. It has grown to be a community-based, nonprofit organization in Washington State with tax-exempt under section 501(c)3, and a welcoming resource, and a center that seeks to improve the quality of life for members and their families. SMYC offers a variety of educational programs and partnerships that include language, art, culture, music instruction, community-based leadership, healthcare, and community-building workshops. SMYC has gained recognition and trust in the Mongolian community as a volunteer-driven organization with a full working-board. The organization consists of seven working-board members, nine teachers, and a strong core of volunteers. Thanks to our wonderful volunteers, we have created a safe space and community where everyone is welcome and feels at home!
